2007 NCAA Tournament 2nd Round - Boston College vs. Georgetown (-8, 127) 5:45 PM ET
The newest darling of most public players' brackets is the Georgetown Hoyas. Perhaps rightfully so.
The Big East champs were one of the hottest teams in the country to close the season and they opened the NCAA Tournament by completely manhandling Belmont. The second round gets a bit tougher, particularly physically, as the Hoyas will matchup with a Boston College team that boasts nearly as much size and athleticism as them.
One former and current Big East battler get ready for another physical contest just like the old days. Boston College moved on to the ACC for academic reasons and won their NCAA tourney opener for the fourth straight year. Guard Tyrese Rice scored 26 and Sean Marshall added 21 in the Eagles win over Texas Tech.
Georgetown laid a beating on the Bruins of Belmont 80-55, making it three straight games shooting over 50 percent for the highly efficient Hoyas.
Georgetown is currently an 8-point favorite at sportsbook.com and are 20-8 ATS in all lined games this season. The Hoyas are 10-3 ATS after successfully covering the spread in 2 or more consecutive games.
Most of Boston College numbers are negative coming into this second round match-up. Al Skinner's team has never won as lower seed (0-5). The Eagles are 2-6 and 1-7 ATS when opponent makes more then half their shots and 4-8 ATS when out-rebounded this season.
