College Basketball Betting - Louisville Cardinals at #17 Marquette Golden Eagles 7:00 PM EST
Marquette is currently a 2.5 home favorite with a total of 136 at sportsbook.com for tonight's matchup.
Home cooking isn’t hitting the spot so the Louisville Cardinals are looking forward to hitting the road for tonight’s game against Marquette.
The Cardinals, 15-6 overall heading into Saturday’s matchup with Rutgers, are one of the most profitable road teams in college basketball, going 4-1-1 against the spread this season.
They look to increase the profits Monday night as an underdog against a Marquette team that’s just 3-4 ATS on their home court. Tip-off is 7 pm ET on ESPN.
This is the second meeting of the season between the Cardinals and the Marquette Golden Eagles. Louisville won the first meeting 71-51, easily covering the three point spread the books handed them.
Now, two weeks later and Louisville heads to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to face the Golden Eagles on their home court. The Cardinals defeated the Eagles 61-59 as three point underdogs last year at the Bradley Center.
Both teams need to get their leading scorers on track early in this game. In the meeting earlier this season, Louisville’s leading scorer, Jerry Smith, scored just one point in 37 minutes of action.
Luckily for the Cardinals, Terrence Williams scored 20 points while senior Dave Padgett came off the bench to add 17 more.
The Golden Eagles’ top scorers had issues putting up points as well. Junior Dominic James, who leads the team with 13.5 points per game, scored just three points in 29 minutes, while the team’s second-leading scorer Lazar Hayward added just six against a Cardinals team that likes to beat opponents with a solid defense.
Defensively, Louisville is ranked 28th in points against, 12th in field goal percentage and 27th with an average of 24.6 rebounds per game.
Hauling in defensive rebounds is the exact area where the Golden Eagles need help. The Eagles are solid on defense with the exception of being ranked 196th in rebounding.
