MLB Baseball Preview - New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians 7:00 PM EST
The Yankees are currently a -120 moneyline favorite with a total of 10 at sportsbook.com.
Saturday nightís contest matches Mike Mussina (7-7, 4.66 ERA) for New York versus Paul Byrd (10-4, 4.13 ERA) for the Indians.
Despite going just 7-7 individually, Mussina has been the Yankees worst starting pitcher this season in terms of net money line units.
In the games Moose has started, his club is 9-10 for Ė7.45 units of loss. The good news is that heís won his last three starts.
Like any pitcher, it seems to be about run support for Mussina. In the nine wins he has been backed by 7.5 runs per game from his offense, while in the losses, just 2.9 RPG.
This will be the first time he faces Cleveland in 2007. Meanwhile, for Byrd, itís seemingly always been about the color of his jersey for the last several seasons. He has simply been a different pitcher at home than on the road.
However, he has shown better consistency this season, with the Indians going 7-4 in his home starts and 6-4 away. Byrd has been on a roll of late, having not allowed more than four earned runs in any start since June 16th.
During that stretch, Cleveland is 7-2, winning three times as an underdog or pick emí.
Look for the Yankees to be a slight favorite in this contest.
