NBA Basketball - L.A. Lakers at Cleveland Cavaliers (-4, 193) 3:30 PM EST
The two biggest stars in the NBA will go head-to-head on Sunday when Kobe and the Lakers finish up an eight-game road trip at Cleveland, the home of Lebron James. Inconsistency has marked the road swing for Los Angeles, but all is well that end's well, and such will be the case if they can pull the upset on Sunday afternoon.
In an ironic scheduling twist, this will be the first of two matchups between these NBA Finals' hopefuls, as the Cavaliers will be visiting the City of Angels on Thursday. This game therefore, could have a big impact on bettors' philosophies when dealing with that later game. So far in 2006-07, LA has struggled against the Central Division, going just 2-5 SU & 3-4 ATS, including an ugly 93-78 setback at Detroit on Thursday.
Cleveland, meanwhile, has been riddled with inconsistency all year long. Despite having become fully accustomed to the national television stage, this team is playing far from prime time basketball. This game will be the second straight Sunday that the Cavaliers spend in front of the country via ABC, and hopefully it turns out better than last week. In that game, Detroit held the Cavs to just 78 points, the second lowest total at home this season.
One thing in Cleveland's favor this year though it its success against the Western Conference. In 18 games, the Lebron & Co. are 11-7 SU & 10-8 ATS.
