NFL - Kansas City Chiefs (-7, 36½) at Oakland Raiders 8:00 PM EST
On Saturday, the NFL Network will broadcast a second divisional contest in three days as the Chiefs travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders.
Kansas City is in desperation mode, having lost three straight games to fall to 7-7. Oakland meanwhile, could be the worst team in the NFL at 2-12, and appears to have packed it in once again. The Silver and Black have lost their last eight games against the spread in the month of December and come in as nearly a TD underdog.
These two long time bitter rivals meet in what on the surface appears to be a fairly meaningless game. Kansas City was sitting pretty at 7-4 for a wild card berth, but three straight losses leave them with the faintest of hope, needing to win last two games and meltdowns from competing teams.
Competing is something Oakland is no longer doing, as shown by the deplorable effort against St. Louis in being shutout. The NFL Network , just this past Thursday, is reporting Art Shell is out after a just single season so watch to see how this plays out. The Raiders may need to lose to be able to draft QB Brady Quinn and start from scratch, which would send the organization into a completely different direction.
Oakland is atrocious 2-21 against AFC West since 2003 including 12 straight losses. Chiefs are 12-4 ATS at the home of the Silver and Black and the straight up winner in this series is 26-3-1 ATS.
