December 12, Hockey Plays YTD: 6-7, -65.27
Haven't had enough time to pull my sox up yet, I have time now so we'll take some shots over the next while. Detroit Red Wings -1.5 -130 over Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL)
$52 to win $40
Penguins are off one of their best efforts of the season at Mellon Arena beating the Avalanche 4-3 and snapping a long winless streak. It gets no easier today as they travel to JLA in search of more wins against the struggling Red Wings. The Penguins will be without Leclair, Lemieux and Palffy for the game in Detroit. The Pens seemed to bounce back nicely after Crosby heavily critized his teamates play after a lengthy run of terrible efforts. Red Wings have trouble in the cage with Legace strung up but I really like their chances here against shorthanded Penguins tonight. This isn't close to the Penguins team that was expected to challenge for the Stanley Cup. This team is without an identity now and playing like it. I trust the Red Wings to contain the Pens tonight and to get themselves a 'solid' home win (2+ goals). I feel Fleury faces 45-50 shots here and he could be in a bit of a bad spot. Wings are due. Red Wings only injury concerns Robert Lang, all the rest seem to be ready to roll.
GL!
