NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State's men's basketball team will have to overcome a big setback after learning on Monday afternoon that junior guard Bruce Price has been lost for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
It was confirmed on Monday that Price had a torn ACL which occurred in the final minutes of the Tigers' upset bid at Ohio State on Friday night. Price will have surgery the week of January 2.
"This is major blow for our team as Bruce was playing well, and has shown a lot of maturity from his sophomore to his junior season," said Tiger head coach Cy Alexander. "He was not only our leading scorer, but our top defensive player on the perimeter. I feel very bad for Bruce. However, he should make a full recovery after a four-to-six month rehabilitation period."
Price was leading the team in scoring at 19.3 ppg and also drew the assignment of covering the opponents' top offensive player. He became the 24th player in TSU history to cross the 1,000th point mark last week at Southern Mississippi." |
