One quirk about Samford home games that most of you probably don't know about. They are the only DI basketball team I know of that their home games can be affected by the WEATHER. On one end of their gym there is a lot of glass open to the outside. If you have noticed almost all of their saturday games are scheduled for the afternoon. If the sun is shining the first half the visiting team has to shoot into the sun. By the second half the sun is no longer a factor. I can't believe the OVC let's them get away with this. To give you one example. Tenn. Tech just played there and it was the second meeting of the year. In the first half Tech fell behind by 20 pts. and came back to be down 10 at the half. In the second half they tied it up and won in overtime.

That's about all the non-stat info I have on Samford. More so than any other team in the league this Samford team is affected by things you can't find in the stats. Having said all of this remember anything can happen in a game. I'm just trying to provide insight that you can't find in stat sheets. Hope this helps.
