I'm like the Brewers keep going back and forth over the even point... SUNDAY PLAYS: $150 Cincinnati -125
$50 Cincy/Atl OVER 9.5
- Arroyo has a 3.04 ERA and a 1.191 WHIP on the road. In his career he's 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA w/ his team going 3-1 against the Braves. John Thompson has a 6.65 ERA in 4 starts against Cincy. He also has a 6.75 ERA in his last 3 starts where the Braves lost all 3.
- Just don't have a feeling on the SD/Wash game at all... SD has owned the series though lately. $75 Florida +160
- Good value with Scott Olsen and his 2.33 ERA and 1.035 WHIP last 3 starts (19.3 IP). Glavine has been allowing baserunners, but has been getting out of jams. With Reyes doubtful (except for pinch running) and Delgado day to day, Glavine is over priced. $100 Philly -150
$150 Pitt/Philly OVER 10
- The Pirates are 1-9 when Zack Duke takes the mound on the road. He's got a 7.02 ERA and a 1.861 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Cole Hamels is still looking for his first MLB win. He's got a 6.43 ERA and a 1.714 WHIP. I'm hoping that both teams can overcome their inability to hit lefties. $200 Milwaukee -130
$75 Cubs/Brewers OVER 9
- Prior is good fade material again as the Cubs have yet to win a game he's started this season. Doug Davis has a 2.41 ERA and a 1.125 WHIP in his last 3 games. Career against the Cubs, he's 5-4 with a 2.74 ERA and a 1.112 WHIP. Cubs are scoring 3.7 runs per game against lefties, while batting .240 with an OBP of .293. Looking for the Brewers to split. $200 Colorado -135
$50 Zona/Colo under 10 (-130)
- I have lots of confidence that Colorado will come out fired up on Sunday, after they almost came back in the 9th inning. Aaron Cook should deep into the game for Colorado. He's 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA and a 1.140 WHIP in his career against the D'backs.
- I want to take the OVER in SF/LAD, but with the two pitchers out there it might not be possible. I'll give it some thought during Sunday afternoon.
- Strong lean towards St. Louis and Carpenter in the late night game. $100 Cleveland -165
- After the beating that Cleveland took on Saturday I expect they'll have better luck against Lopez compared to Bedard. Westrbrook has been putting up decent numbers, and it should be a big Cleveland win. $100 Tampa Bay +110
$100 NYY/TB under 10.5
- Kris Wilson is getting his first action this season starting for the Yankees. He's a 29 year old that according to rotoworld, has no above average pitches. His best year was in 2001 when he went 6-5 with a 5.20 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 15 starts (109.1 IP). This season he has started 14 games in AAA where he was 6-5 with a 2.84 WHIP and a 0.97 WHIP. Casey Fossum has a 2.90 ERA and 1.265 WHIP in 7 home starts this year (40.3 IP) $150 Boston +115
- Looking at career numbers between these pitchers, Schilling is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA and a WHIP of 1.031. Jose Contreras is 3-3 with an ERA of 8.64 ERA and a 1.920 WHIP. Boston has been having their way in this series, and most people will probably say ChiSox won't be swept, but I think they're already in All Star break mode. $100 Texas +190
$100 Kansas City +190
- The lefty/right splits and the Koronko/Gobble splits are too good not to take a chance on both of the dogs and hope one or both of them win tomorrow. Santana and Halladay have electric stuff, but will their offenses help them out? I almost took both of these teams and parlayed the favorites to win $125 on a $100 play, but I like this a lot better... $225 Detroit -110
$75 Det/Sea under 8.5
- I love King Felix, but he's 0-2 in his career against Detroit. Seattle can't hit lefties to save their lives. I think this is another low scoring game like it was on Saturday night. Nate Robertson gets the win, and Detroit goes happily into the break. $100 Angels +110
- Angels have been hot in July and their bats are starting to become alive. Santana has put up good career numbers against Oakland. |
