Default 5 4 12/11

less than stellar 1-5 -4 yesterday but its early day yet so let's wade back in

UC Riverside @ LA-Monroe -1.5

2 1-1 squads early in the season but youngish Warhawks have slight edge.

Sacremento St @ New Mexico -13

This is make or break yr for Ritchie McKay down in Loboland.... He's got 4 talented transfers to work into rotation, though in the case of at least two, J.R Giddens (Kansas) and Aaron Johnson (Penn St), staying out of jail will need to come first. All that aside these Lobo's may well be one of yr's surprises and a definite contender for MWC crown. Friday nite's win over Albilene Christain and todays tilt with Bees meant to get team off on the right foot and they should romp home.

Clemson -1 @ Old Dominion

Both teams 2-0 but similarity ends there. Old Dom won as expected over Monmouth and Ark St as did Tigers, but Clemson with much more authority. Tigers have bit sharper edge to their claws at the moment and momentum should carry them to win over Monarchs.

Georgia Southern -4.5 v UC-Davis

Both teams season opener and kickoff to Duke regional of CBE Classic. GS had no problem scoring pts last year, and while they've lost Elton Nesbitt, SoCon player of year, there's still plenty of firepower. Sr Donte Glenn (12.7 ppg) Jr Louis Graham (11.4 ppg) and Jimmy Tobias (7.4 ppg) more than enough as they'll prevail over Aggies. Davis will compete and not embarass themselves this yr having moved to Big West but its a loss today.

Nicholls St v Northern Iowa -18

Call me foolhardy, mulish, or just plain stupid but....just like yesterday's play on Wake, laying 18 this early in the yr is chancy, but Panthers opening season with much to prove. Normally loss of head coach a red flag but in NI's case its not with former #1 assistant Ben Jacobson taking over helm of Greg McDermott. Loss of leading scorer Ben Jacobson (Iowans love to keep things simple...referendum on mid term called for entire state to change name to Ben Jacobson) leaves a bit of a hole but most of supporting class from last year is back. Finally Nicholls looked dreadful last night and coming back today i'm not expecting a parting of the seas if you will.

YTD 3-7 -4.27
