Default July 1, CFL Plays

Friday:

Good win yesterday, lets try to keep it going today.

3* Ottawa Renegades +10.5 -110 over Montreal Alouettes

Yes, Montreal are the perennial Grey Cup contender but you can't help but notice rather large lines like these in favor of MUCH better home teams than road teams. Ottawa had a rough time against Edmonton last week (who doesn't) but should be ready to open their new stadium tonight. They do have weapons on offense as I've mentioned in prior posts. Their QB Joseph is due for a better game this week. Montreal has some losses on defense including one of their best defensive backs Davis Sanchez (now with Edmonton). They have also lost key Wide Out Jermaine Copeland to Calgary. Calvillo will have to spread it out to Cahoon an awful lot tonight if they're to run up the score and finish off Ottawa. Last years game in Ottawa between both these teams covered the +10.5. Montreal has lost a little on both offense and defense in recent years and I believe this is a year they are cut back a little bit in the CFL and more challenged by Toronto, Edmonton and BC. You saw phases of their mortality last year and I think this year with Cahoon and Calvillo both one year older it gets no easier. Ottawa are a young, fast and fresh team. They have a lot of speed on offense and they should be able to produce points tonight. I feel this to be a close game before games end. Ottawa's schlacking at the hands of Edmonton last week will rise their level of play for their home opener for certain.
