Took a day yesterday from college hoops. I was half sick all day anyway. In addition to that , if I recall, last year I always did horrible on Saturday. Just too much too choose from. It helps to take a day off during the week anyway. Seven days a week can get to you, even if you are winning. Fairly light schedule today, but here is what I found.



Duquesne +5.5 vs Fordham (best bet)……………Duquesne really is flying under the radar. They have a reputation of really sucking. They play at Pitt pretty tough for a while. They won at Boston College and at St Louis. So this team can play with some people. I am not sure how Fordham is favored on the road. This is a very winnable game for Duquesne and they probably did not think they would have many of those going into this season. This is a game they should win outright, but I will gladly take the 5.5 points here just in case.


Michigan St -4.5 vs Illinois (strong play)………….I am not sure what the stats say, but I have always been a big fan of small home favorite in the big ten. Mich State has not lost at home yet this year, and they won’t today. Illinois recently lost at Michigan by ten, and I know MSU is better than Michigan. I really don’t this this game will be all that close.


Oregon +8 vs Arizona (regular play)……………No doubt Zona is the better team here, but Oregon is having a great year and eight is just too many points. Arizona is a great home team, but they are not blowing away teams at all. This reminds me of the Okla St/Kansas game this week and I was all over Okie St and they got blown away. I hope this game is not like that one, but I guess it could be. That is why this is only a regular bet and not stronger. I am a little gun shy after losing Okla St earlier in the week as a best bet. Arizona however is not Kansas, so I feel pretty good about this one.



Buffalo +1 vs Miami-Ohio (regular play)……………This line baffles me a little bit. It is at Buffalo. Buffalo has the better overall record. Miami is 1-7 on the road, while Buffalo is 4-3 at home. Most power ratings have Buffalo as the better team. I am not sure why I am not making this a best bet.



Finishing up my first week of college hoops. I am down a little, but seem to be headed in the right direction. I feel I have a decent chance to be in the plus after today’s action.
