| Screw this crappy last week: I have followed college intently all year, I know these teams, and had good success outside of last week. Thursday Games Davidson/Maryland Davidson +7 This Davidson team has been a covering machine all week. Not many are giving them a chance to beat Maryland, but I think they matchup very well with the Terps. Davidson is a great shooting team that also is good from the charity stripe and can rebound as well. I don't trust this Terp team as I think their late season run was a mirage. Give me the Wildcats + the points. Texas Tech/Boston College Texas Tech +3 Don't trust the Boston College Eagles as they have been fading down the stretch. Don't think Skinner can coach during the games, and Knight will have his team ready to go. Everyone is talking about how great BC is on the boards and on defense, but I have not seen it the last three games. I think this team is tired, disinterested, and poorly coached. Give me Robert Montgomery Knight and the 3 points. Stanford/Louisville Stanford + 5 1/2 Give me the Cardinal here as I feel this team is hungry to prove all the naysayers wrong that they should not have been in this tournament. By 3pm eastern the public will be biting their tongue as I expect the Cardinal to win this game outright. The only reason Stanford was questionable to make the tournament was missing their guard Anthony Goods down the stretch. Louisville has been playing better recently, but give me a hungry young team that plays stellar defense, rebounds and has enough guard play. Oral Roberts/Washington State Oral Roberts +7 Oral Roberts, I have not seen them play, but I know they are experienced and have been a good team the last several years. Washington State is a team that I could see struggling in the 1st round as these guys have not been here and can struggle to score at times. Even if the Cougars win cannot see them blowing out this Oral Roberts team. Give me the points with Eagles of Oral Roberts. Duke/Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Duke - 6 1/2 I like Duke with its experience of the head coach and players. This program expects to win, especially in the tournament. People are doubting them and saying VCU can win. I don't see it. Coach K will have his troops ready for the tournament, because that is what he does. These players didn't come to Duke because they are losers. Duke will step up here, and further should own the paint and the boards and those are the differences in this game. Duke should get better looks on offense and further get a lot more 2nd chance opportunities to cover this number. Weber State/UCLA UCLA - 19 1/2 Give me the Bruins here as they will create easy opportunites on the offensive end with steals created from their stifling perimenter defense and the penetration of Collison on the offensive end. Hell UCLA was laying 15 to the Cal Golden Bears a few days ago. I will take UCLA as people are doubting the Bruins after two losses. Indiana/Gonzaga Indiana - 1 1/2 Give me the Hoosiers here as I will favor the tenacity and toughness of a Kelvin Sampson coached team in the tourney. They will be more physically and mentally tough than Gonzaga and that will lead to a Hoosier victory. I also think people are knocking the Hoosier guard play, but I saw these guys knocking down clutch threes in several games I saw this year. I will take the Hoosiers and lay the points. Good Luck, let's get this thing turned around |
