Default SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE AT UT-MARTIN 12-3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenn-Martin is big and athletic. Their smallest starter is 6'5". They can shot the three but don't really want to. They prefer to pound the ball inside or drive to the bucket. Most of their scoring comes from their two guards Jared Newson 21.3ppg and Jeremy Kelly 22.7ppg. This team tends to play much better at home than on the road.

SEMO will be at a large size disadvantage and without their third leading scorer David Johnson 9.7ppg. He will undergo a hernia operation and be out for the next couple of weeks. Johnson is a very important part of SEMO's rotation. This is a guard oriented team and if their 6'8" forward Andrais Thornton gets 2 fouls in the first half they'll sit him down and go with four guards till half. SEMO plays man to man defense almost solely but this week have been putting in a lot of time practicing zone defense. They'll try to use this to offset Martins size advantage and force them to score from the outside and keep their big men from getting in foul trouble.

With this low number I'm forced to bet against my team and take Tenn-Martin. Having said that be wary, SEMO has been a great cover team the last couple years as an underdog. If Johnson was playing I would take SEMO. Tenn-Martin should have more chances from the freethrow line and I believe that should be enough to get the cover.

Default Eaglesfan

I hope it doesn't to. I've been watching it all day and it's at 6 at olympic. If it would go to 6- I would buy it to 7 and try for the middle. That's why I posted last night. I thought the line should go up.

Default RE-CAP

This game played out just about like I thought it would. It was won on the free-throw line. Both teams made 20 FG with SEMO hitting 2 more 3 pointers. Tenn-Martin was 26-33 on FT. SEMO was 12-18 on FT. In Tenn-Martin's game Thur. with Ark. St., Martin shot 12 more FT and won by 3. Tenn-Martin seems to always get to the line more at home but that wont happen on the road.
