SEMO AT JACKSONVILLE STATE Until SEMO proves they can shoot better than 40% from the floor they should be a bet against team on the road. All year they have had no one that could consistently be an inside threat. Jacksonville State will force the pace in this game and SEMO's short bench could come into play. SEMO will also be without their best on the ball defender, 6'4" Eric Jones. I don't believe SEMO will be able to keep up the scoring pace Jacksonville State will set unless they shoot a much higher percentage than they have been so far this year. JACKSONVILLE STATE -6- MURRAY STATE AT SAMFORD Murray should be able to hold Samford to the mid 50's. Murray is very good at defending the 3. Samford shot 43.5% from 3 against SEMO saturday hitting 10 three pointers. They also shot 49% from the floor. They won't shoot that good against Murray. Murray's playing very well now and I'll continue to ride them until they prove me wrong. MURRAY STATE -7 TENN-MARTIN AT EASTERN KENTUCKY Not a big write up on this one. Tenn-Martin is big and athletic. They should control the boards in this one. I believe this is a pretty even game and I'll take the 5 points even though it's the second game of the death valley road trip and Tenn-Martin won the first game at Morehead saturday. This one is more of a gut feeling. TENN-MARTIN +5

Evansville should have a good scouting report on Wednesday's opponent. UE Director of Basketball Operations Rhet Wierzba was a three-year starter at Austin Peay from 2002 through 2004, and then served as a graduate assistant at APSU last season. He joined the staff at UE in September. This year Evansville is 4-0 at home and 0-3 on the road. However the losses were against Loyola, Marshall, and W. Kentucky. All these teams are better than Austin Peay. The Valley has been very good in non-confrence games this year currently ranked third in the country. I look for Evansville to get their first road win of the season tonight. EVANSVILLE +3-

The way they're shooting I just don't see how SEMO can keep up with Jacksonville St. tonight. Jacksonville St. will press and force an up-tempo game. Normally this wouldn't bother me but SEMO still only has 8 scholarship players available for the game. They play a 3 guard offense and only have 4 guards available. Their best on the ball defender is still out with a sprained ankle. They haven't had anyone step up and become a consistant inside scoring threat.

JACKSONVILLE ST. -6- winner EVANSVILLE +3- winner MURRAY ST. -7 loser TENN-MARTIN +5 loser Overall a ho-hum night as we split. A quick word about the two loses. In the Tenn-Martin game it looks like the death valley curse held true to form. Tenn-Martin actually was out rebounded by 6 in the game and only shot 36.7% from the floor. Murray St. came down to earth and the shooting % were just the opposite from what I that they would be. Murray St. was 42.9% from the floor and 17.6% from 3. Samford was 54.5% from the floor and 50% from 3. In their last two games Samford has shot 50% from 3 against the top two defenses against the 3 in the league. 17-11-1 ytd
