DRAKE AT SIU 12-31

This is my first post with no OVC teams involved but I live less than 1 hr. from the SIU campus and I'm familiar with this team. I was really impressed with the game SIU just played at Murray State. Their playing much better than they were at the first of the season mainly because of their improved intensity on defense. SIU is on a 5 game winning streak. They have also won 27 in a row at home overall and 36-straight at home against Missouri Valley teams.

This is only the 2 home game for Tenn. St. They come into this game off of 6 straight road games in which the were 1-5. They played very respectable against Geo. Tech., Ohio St., and Iowa St. Last year they lost at MTSU by 2 pts. Just a reminder if you didn't see my post for Tenn. States last game. Bruce Price, their leading scorer, is OUT for the year but they gain the services of 6'11" Oklahoma transfer Larry Turner. Turner became eligible at the end of the first semester and this will be his fourth game since becoming eligible. I like Tenn. St. to win a close game at home.

SIU 64-50 winner
If you haven't seen this team play lately they are playing VERY good defense. Just my opinion but SIU at home ALWAYS warrents a strong look.

TENN. ST. 57-67 loser
They were down 32-16 at half and got back to 1 down but couldn't overcome that terrible first half. Since Price went down this team hasn't reached 60 pts. in a game. Something to keep an eye on.
