Before the line came out on this game I called A-1 and ask him what he thought the line would be. He told me Samford -10. I told him I thought it would be Samford -8. The line is now at Samford -9. Vegas has finally put out a decent line on a SEMO game. With a win here Samford can lock up the second seed in the OVC tournament. Samford beat SEMO earlyer this year by 15 as a 10 point favorite. SEMO had that line covered pretty well until the last 2 1/2 min. That game was played when SEMO still had their full team available. Since Andrais Thornton was suspended SEMO has lost 2 home games to Tenn-Martin and E. Illinois both by 11 points. I do like Samford to cover this number. The only worry I have is a possible back door cover by SEMO. These last several games they have gotten down big in the second half and almost always make a big run at the end. This will only be a regular play for me and not a double. SAMFORD -9

Since SEMO has been down to 7 scholarship players the closest they have been at the end of the 1H has, I believe, been 9 points. I also like Samford in the 1H as this takes away the back door cover. SAMFORD -5 1H

We go 1-2 on the night as Jacksonville St. is our lone winner. The losing streak is over as SEMO wins outright as after the first 13 min. of the game it wasn't much in doubt. In the first half SEMO only shot 29% from the floor to Samfords 35% but led by four, 25-21. SEMO took 11 more shots than Samford and made 6 three pointers. SEMO made 12 three point shots on the night. Samford shot 40% for the game, the same as SEMO, but shot 10 less shots and made 3 less threes. The telling stat for the game was points off turnovers SEMO 19 Samford 5. My overall impression was Samford just didn't want the game as much as SEMO did and SEMO finally hit their shots which they haven't done all year. I predict a first round home win for Samford in the OVC tournament but a loss in the semi-finals when they get to Nashville. I should have layed off this one like A-1 did. record now 49-37-3 (56.9%)
