Default JACKSONVILLE ST. AT SEMO 2-25

I just want to provide some info on this game as it will be a no play for me. The games today will end the regular season for OVC play. Tenn. St. just beat E. Kentucky to give them both records of 11-9. If Austin Peay beats Morehead, which they should, they will have a record of 11-9. If Jacksonville St. beats SEMO they will have a record of 12-8 and get the no. 4 seed in the first round of the OVC tournament. If they lose to SEMO they will be in a 4 way tie for the 4th seed. The 4th seed gets to play at HOME in the first round of the playoffs. So this game is huge for Jacksonville St.

SEMO is done for the year after this game. Don't think that they will just show up and want to get the game over. The coaches and players want VERY much to win this game and end the season on a 2 game winning streak. If you made me pick the game I would have to take Jacksonville St. but I can make a good case for SEMO winning. I just don't see much value in this game. I'm just going to sit back and root for SEMO. I'll see everyone for the playoffs.

GO REDHAWKS!!!!!!!

Default RE-CAP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game went about like I thought. Jacksonville St. got up by 26 in the second half and then SEMO made their big run and got it down to 6 with a little over 3 min. to go. With the shot clock running out Jacksonville St. hit an NBA three and that changed the momentum of the game and went on to win. If coach Garner can keep his job for one more year SEMO will be one of the teams to beat for the conference title next year. Next years team should be the best team ever to take the floor for SEMO. With the way they finished this year and losing the top scorer in the conference we should get some very good early lines on their games next year. They will be playing in an early season tournament in Alaska.

The OVC first round starts Tuesday night. The top eight teams from the regular season play, with the top 4 teams hosting a first round game. Then the tournament moves to the Galord Center in Nashville, Tn. Friday and Saturday for the semi-finals and finals. I'll see everyone Tuesday night. G/L to all
