NC State is 3-2 in last five games vs Florida State, with losses by 17-10/50-44 (ot) so Amato has done very well against Bowden, his mentor; Wolfpack covered four of those five games, and 16 of last 23 when underdog. Amato's problem is offense that has scored 17 points three games in row; last year, he outrushed the Seminoles 198-43. Florida State are 3-5 in last eight as road fave, but 4-1 in last five Thursday games; they gained only 176 yards at Miami, 204 vs Clemson, not sure they have firepower to cover double digit spread on foreign soil.

TCU, Utah both lost last week, with Utes getting crushed 36-3 at home by Boise State, while Horned Frogs lost 31-17 Thursday at home to BYU. TCU ended Utah's 18-game win streak last year, 23-20 at home in OT, as Frogs outrushed Utes 228-109. Utah has yet to beat Decent team in 3-2 start (beat Utah St, San Diego St and I-AA team) while Frogs held Baylor, Texas Tech under ten points in wins. Horned Frogs had two extra days to prepare.
