West Virginia at Syracuse -1.5
Let me start off by saying how STUPID I think it is for any conference to start with a conference game. Now that I got that off my chest I can move on to the game. Over the last few years W. Virginia has beaten up on Syracuse. Most of the players who have played an integral role; Pac Man Jones is busy causing trouble in the NFL and QB/WR combo of Rasheed Marshall and Chris Henry were drafted. Only 8 starters return for W. Virginia. W. Virginia has a deep but somewhat inexperienced backfield, their quarterbacks could easily be replaced by any of the top 3 on the depth chart, and there secondary except for Addae WV backfield has 3 new starters will little experience.

Syracuse returns both their starting QB and RB. Both of which are pretty special players. A little concern I have about this team is the coaching change from a option attack to a west coast system. I feel that the change better uses the personel, I'm just a bit concerned with the adjustment period. The cuse, also return the Big East defensive player of the year anchoring their defense. While the first team punter will help win the field position battle.

Kentucky at Louisville -22
Kentucky has been awful the past few years and it doesn't look like things are going to be changing this year. With a team that had one of the worst defenses in the country last year, they lost more than half of their players, which in their situation might actually be a good thing. Unfortunately, the players replacing them don't look like they're that much more talented nor do they have very much experience. Kentucky is also playing a QB that had one start as a true freshmen last year, and with a makeshift RB lineup as there starter is down for the year.

Louisville returns quite a bit from a spetacular team last year. Brian Brohn could be a great QB in the next two-three years. Michael Bush will fill in perfectly at RB. I also liked reading that Louisville players considered this game one of the most important of the year as it's an instate rivalry. Don't look for Louisville to back away from anything Kentucky throws at them.

Virgina Tech -3.5 at NC State
Va Tech always prides themselves on their defense. This year will not be any different. Darryl Tapp at DE is one of the best d-linemen in teh country. Vince Hall will anchor a solid linebacker group and the secondary should play well above average. Marcus Vick is ready to take over at QB and put all of his legal troubles behind him. He should be ready to step in as Va Tech has a group of Wr's that could rival anyones in the country.

NCST will be able to hold things down defensively for awhile, but will struggle to score in this game. They need to answer questions all over the offense. Their best RB is a true freshmen, and their QB is nothing special. If NCST wants to win they're going to need to do it will with defense and special teams. I feel that Virgina Tech's defense will be better able to put the offense into scoring positions and their offense will be better equiped to take advantage of them. I'm going to buy .5 point here to be on the safe side. I'd also lean towards an under 41.5 in this game as I don't see NCST scoring more than 13 or so points. I'd appreciate thoughts on that.

GL on the plays today fondy, ive been telling ppl to get on the CUSE today all week, they will win big today....KY is a mess, they shouldnt even be anywhere close in this football game, so i like that one also...vatech/ncst is a tough one to predict....like i have said earlier i really do think it comes down to qb play...vatech has more talent but if vick isnt consistent and turns it over they wont win this game
