Arrow FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals

The action continues to heat up in Germany, where the summer's largest sporting event has hit the quarterfinal stage. As always, Bodog.com has posted the odds.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup is down to the "elite eight" - Germany, Argentina, Italy, Ukraine, England, Portugal, Brazil and France - as the month-long tournament moves into its third round.

As has been the case with all World Cup games to date, the Bodog.com Sportsbook is offering a variety of lines, futures and innovative player and team props covering all the action from Germany.

"The round of 16 provided some excellent play, compelling storylines and notable upsets," says Bodog.com Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre. "We're excited to provide wagering options that align themselves with the world's biggest sporting event, and equally excited to watch the quarterfinal round."

On Friday, the host Germans will square off against Argentina , who needed extra time to dispose of Mexico in the round of 16. In the other Friday game, Italy will take on the surprising Ukrainians, who are making their inaugural World Cup appearance a memorable one with their storybook quarterfinal run.

Saturday action includes what many perceive to be the marquee game of the round - Brazil versus France in a rematch of the 1998 World Cup Final. Saturday morning, all eyes will be on the England-Portugal game, a rematch from the 2004 European Championship quarterfinals, which Portugal won via penalty shootout.

What are your takes for the games tomorrow?...I honestly think the Argentina-Germany game is gonna be a snoozer as far as goals are concerned, and I think extra time will be needed for this one. BUT THEN AGAIN...I am no expert, so I could be completely wrong...
