The phillies swing this deal with yankees today
they let abbreu and liddle go can they be jackasses here
meaning the gm who makes the deals. there only 5 1/2 games back in wild card with 60 games to go shame on THEM.

I like the move Ben. Abreu and Lidle were both struggling mightly, plus they get rid of 2 bloated contracts. It also allows the Phils to start Victorino in left field and bat lead off.

i think it was a good trade for philly...it was clear the team wasnt going to win as constructed now....they got rid of the 2 big contracts, even though they prob are paying some of the salary. got some prospects which might or might not pan out u never know, but they arent playing for this yr as this season was pretty much shot as it is.

I can live with Bobby Abreau gone, I understand the financial part of it, but to lose a starting pitchter at this point is stupid. We are only five out of the wild card right now. Maybe there is still hope with the money available now of us getting a starting pitcher. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.
