| The Denver Bronco's upset win over New England capped off a ‘turn around' NFL Sunday from last weeks disaster. Sunday's NFL was decided in the bookmakers favor by results like Baltimore not covering the spread and upset St Louis and Denver results. College football however was the bookmakers ‘Achilles Heel' this week, at least here at www.betcris.com. Apart from a few decent results on Saturday, the week of College Football belonged to our customers. Best games for the house.... Denver defeating New England on Sunday night was by far our best result for the week. There were plenty of New England bettors willing to lay the 6 points at home, or mostly including them in Teaser and parlay bets. Baltimore's last minute field goal to win 15-14 over Cleveland was nearly a perfect game for us with most people prepared to lay the 6 to 7 points Baltimore was favored by. Had Cleveland held on for the victory, we would have beaten every teaser and parlay bet for the day and it would have turned into a ‘Million dollar game', for us. St Louis defeated Arizona 16-14 in a game where Kurt Warner wore the brunt of the Arizona loss with 3 interceptions and a lost fumble. Arizona were heavily bet at home with an opening spread of 4 ½ that closed at 5 points. Best games for the players.... Indianapolis Colts at home defeating Jacksonville 21-14 was a ‘bettors' result with the Colts opening a 6 point favorite and closing at 7 points. The majority of Jacksonville bettors we did have either bet Jacksonville +7 points, or even bought a half point to +7.5 so it was a great game for our customers. Chicago also came from behind and won 19-16 over Minnesota in a game where it looked like Minnesota had a victory all sealed up. The Chicago spread was anywhere between 3 and 3 ½ points so when they came from no where to win by 3 points, it hurt us immensely. Our worst result in College Football for the week was Notre Dame winning 40-37 over Michigan State. Notre Dame came from nowhere to win by 3 points which was exactly where our spread was ‘bouncing' around. We opened Notre Dame 3 ½ points, and closed them lower at 3 points, but any time we have a spread like that, and it lands on the number of 3, it really hurts bookmakers. Europe concluded a big victory to retain the Ryder Cup golf on Sunday. After Tom Lehman announced his team, a flood of money came for Europe, but thankfully for us we had many patriotic American's out there for the tournament to be a good one for bookmakers. We had to pay one ‘unpatriotic' gentleman who was the first ‘Europe' bettor for a single bet of $10,000 on Europe, but the tournament was still good for us. Until next week, Regards Shane Catford |
