| Flying his plane over Manhattan 34 year old Cory Lidle presumably losses control of plane and crashes into apartment high rise. 2 reported dead Lidle and instructor. Unreal how just three days ago he was playing with yankees in the playoffs.

| Really sad. The plane was equipped with a parachute for the entire plane, Lidle had spoke about it. I understand they were having mechanical problems and were perhaps attempting to come down in the water. I believe the weather hurt their visibility and caused them to crash rather than deploy the 'chute. |

| Sad indeed. RIP Cory Lidle. Just to think he was in the starting rotation for the Phillies in July, with the Yanks just 4 days ago in the playoffs and now gone. Puts life into perspective. One day your here and the next your not... Tradegy to his family and friends, especially his wife and 6 year old son. |
