| Jake Long is now the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL. Not too bad for a twenty two year old just out of college. I wonder if there is anyone coming out of school who comes close to this starting salary? $57.75 million with $30 million guaranteed. Not too bad! In the history of the draft he is only the third Offensive Tackle taken first. He is in great company. He joins Ron Yary (1968)and Orlando Pace(1997). Yary is in the Hall of Fame after spending his career with the Minnesota Vikings and giving Vikings fans plenty to cheer about while he was there. No less than four Super Bowl appearances. Pace has been voted to seven consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and appeared in two Super Bowls with the St. Louis Rams. If Long can accomplish what these two have in his stay at Miami it will be worth every penny (or Million) Miami has spent. He has five years under this contract and then he can do it all over again.
