| Many, if not all top ranked players have played in Atlantic City at one time or another, but Phil or "Jerome" or " Ji" as I called him is an Atlantic City favorite. It's great to see him doing well and would be even better to see him take the H.O.R.S.E. event... Phil Ivey Bluff-ESPN Power Ranking: 33 Total WSOP & Circuit Earnings: $3,843,018 WSOP Bracelets: 7 WSOP Cashes: 35 WSOP Earnings: $3,461,008 Circuit Cashes: 3 Circuit Earnings: $382,010 Birthdate: 1976 Birthplace: California Resides: Las Vegas, NV • Ivey is a regular at the $4,000/$8,000 mixed cash game (the Big Game) at the Bellagio • Nickname "No Home Jerome" generated from the fake ID he used to play poker in Atlantic City in his teenage years. • Won over $16 million dollars while playing for "The Corporation" against billionaire Andy Beal. • Grew up in New Jersey • Youngest player to attain 5 WSOP Bracelets. None were in a Hold’em event. • Bluff Magazine's 2005 Player of the Year

| 2009 40th Annual World Series of Poker World Championship NL Texas Hold'em (Event 57) Friday, July 03, 2009 to Wednesday, July 15, 2009 Buy-in: $10,000 Prizepool: $61,043,600 Entries: 6,494 Wed, 08 Jul 2009 22:44:58 Day 2b Concludes; Onwards Our four-level Day 2b has come to a close, and what a day it's been. A whopping 2,924 players from Days 1c and 1d started today, and with capacity officially at around 2,800, the tournament directors were forced to drag out some extra tables to accommodate them all -- literally every poker table in the whole building was in use at the start of the day. With the expected Day 2 carnage, we lost more than half our our field in eight hours of play. Among those who couldn't stand the pace were Erick Lindgren, Shannon Shorr, Victor Ramdin, Vanessa Rousso, Scotty Nguyen and Howard Lederer. Among those who will be coming back for Day 3, though, we have such luminaries as Phil Ivey, ElkY, David Benyamine, Justin Bonomo and Dan Harrington. In addition, Day 1d chip leader Troy Weber seems to have maintained his status as leader of the pack. There will be a one-day rest break for everyone to psyche themselves up, so we'll be back on Friday July 10th at noon to see if we can't get this baby into the money! Players Remaining 1724 Of 6494 Minimum 250,000 Player.....
