| Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays as the Team Pulse took off for Christmas to give the overworked staff some time with the family. Now we are back to pad our winnings with some very strong Bowl winners. We are taking off this week on the NFL as most games do not mean much. We will be back for the NFL playoffs next week. We have found 2 strong plays for the New Years weekend to consider. We have strong information with a “Texas flavor” on these games to make the Pulse a double digit winner for 2005 Plays of the Week! The Pulse's Record: +16 Units Play #1 TCU vs. Iowa State The Pulse gives this play a 5-Star Rating! The most embarrassing conference in the country so far has been the Big 12 North. Colorado lost to middle of the road ACC teams so far this Bowl Season and we don’t see much changing here for the Cyclones, who had the division wrapped up but couldn’t close the door at home against Missouri. This is a team with limited talent and has been a most inconsistent bunch all year. Not the bowl they were looking for and will come up lame against a talented TCU team. TCU has dominated the WAC conference with its efficient running game and strong defense. Having the game at home will motivate the Frogs to show America that they are a team to be reckoned with as they take an early lead and use their running game to make this game an easy winner Go for a strong play with TCU -3 (maybe smaller by game time) as they dominate the Cyclones at home in the Houston Bowl Play #2 Alabama vs. Texas Tech The Pulse gives this play a 3-Star Rating! The Crimson Tide comes off the worst loss of the year, getting shellacked by their bitter rival Auburn in the “Iron Bowl” Auburn my be the best team in the country right now so lets throw that game out for now. The Tide does have the best statistical defense in the country and the offense will be able to move the ball against a weak Tech defense. Alabama plays in one of the strongest conferences and as noted early, Texas Tech does not. Texas Tech has a very diverse offense and that’s the reason for their success. However, Alabama will have had 3 weeks to prepare for this team and will use its first class defense to keep this game close. We look at this from a “value” standpoint as a FG winner for Texas Tech still gets us home so we see this as a nice play for the first Bowl game of the New Year Have a Happy New Year from all of us at The Pulse!
