Arrow Indiana at Detroit VIPsports Edge

By Michael Robinson.

Detroit is 24-2 at home this year, and 16-9-1 against the spread (ATS) at home. Indiana is 9-15 on the road (11-11-2 ATS).

Detroit is 43-9 on the year, and they have almost wrapped up the Eastern Conference with 30 games to play. The Pistons still need to play well to finish the season strong and hopefully finish with the best record in the NBA, giving them home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Bet Now: Indiana (+8.5) at Detroit

The Pistons’ record was even better a few weeks ago, but they seemed to get tired towards the break, losing three of their last six games. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, the Pistons didn’t get a lot of rest during the break as four players made the All-Star game.

Each of their starters are averaging about 36 minutes per game, and coach Flip Saunders should try to get those numbers down a bit.

Indiana is only 27-23 on the year and is still trying to find their identity after another trying season. First, they had to deal with another Ron Artest fiasco, having to finally deal the disgruntled forward for Peja Stojakovic.

The Pacers have also had to deal with the loss of their superstar, Jermaine O’Neal. He has missed the last nine games with a groin injury and is projected to be out until the end of March.

The good news is that Indiana is 6-1 with the starting lineup of Stephen Jackson, Anthony Johnson, Stojakovic, Jeff Foster and Scot Pollard, following their 97-75 win over New Orleans/Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

They are also undefeated against the spread in their nine last games.

These two teams have only met one time this season, a 93-85 Indiana win on February 4th. The Pacers were without O’Neal in that game, but the Pistons were not able to take advantage inside with Rasheed and Ben Wallace combining for only 17 points.

Detroit does not like any team to have the upper hand on them, so it would be extremely surprising if they did not win this game. However, an 8.5 point spread is a lot against a hot team.
