| The first two rounds of the 2006 NCAA Tournament is now completed with only 22 of the 48 favorites covering their spread. Not only have the ‘Dogs’ been doing well so far, but many of them have been winning straight up and removing some highly seeded teams. Big name seeds expected to do well in the tournament that has already been eliminated include Iowa, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Nevada and Ohio State. With results like this it has definitely translated into a good week for us and I’m sure bookmakers everywhere. Through the second round we now have Connecticut and Duke firm favorites to take the title at +250 and +455 respectively and look likely to play in the national championship game. While the NCAA was kind to us, I can’t say the same for NBA. Our customers enjoyed a great week betting NBA with one player in particular winning approximately $200,000 for the week betting on NBA games alone. NHL was the same as NBA except 2 times worse for us! Results just didn’t seem to go our way at all this week. NHL is sometimes very difficult for bookmakers with not a lot of support from the general player so quite often we will have one way decisions on games, which translates to either us winning, or our players winning. Exhibition baseball has been kind to our customers with many of our smaller bettors picking winners which is always good too see. With two weeks away from the regular season I just hope there is going to be more to talk about than Barry Bonds. Japan and Cuba are tonight playing for the World Baseball Classic title with odds very similar to take your pick. Both teams were not expected to reach the final with the stronger teams like Venezuela, Dominican Republic and USA expected to be there. Rod Pampling defeated a star studded field which included Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els and many others to win the Bay Hill Invitational. Pampling was part of our ‘Field’ price which included 100 players and considering that’s approximately 5/6’s of the whole field, +200 was a decent price for 100 players. The US Masters is now just two weeks away so tune in and log onto www.betcris.com and see the odds of your favorite players. Until next week, good luck. Regards Shane Catford BetCris.com |
