Arrow BetCris Weekly Review 4-17

With NBA and NHL heading towards the end of the regular season, it’s always a tough time for bookmakers. Motivation is a big thing in Sports, and when team don’t have anything to play for, it makes it tough to come up with a good line to get balanced action on both teams. The general bettors also don’t like to bet games at the end of the season when their team has missed out on the playoffs, or even if they have secured a spot in the finals and can’t advance anymore and rest their starting players for the finals push. With that in mind, it was a bad week in both sports for us here at www.betcris.com

Money line win bettors in particular had a great week and it was a regular occurrence for our customers to parlay the big 5 or higher point spread favorites on the money line. One customer started on Thursday with $5000 and played the big favorites everyday in parlays and cashed out with over $90,000 after the Sunday night games.

Baseball has received terrific action and has generally been good for us. The public seem to be all over the ‘over’ at the moment and why not with some huge totals being put up on most games. One unlikely exception was Philly’s 1-0 win against Colorado, in Colorado of all places on Sunday. I wouldn’t have bet on a total like that in Colorado, let alone at the start of the season when it looks like the hitters are more in tune as opposed to the pitchers.

We got away with another come from behind win in the golf again this week with Aaron Baddeley edging out Jim Furyk to win the Verizon Heritage on Sunday. We were flooded with Jim Furyk money at 12/1 second favorite to win approximately $100,000. Considering that this event isn’t a big major tournament, it would have been a big, big hit for us.

Tennis is headed into the ‘Clay court’ season and this week is the popular ATP Masters Series in Monte Carlo. It’s the first big tournament of the Clay season and with ‘Roland Garros’ only 5 weeks away, it pays to watch the results closely in the coming weeks.

Until next week,

Shane Catford
