Texas (Rogers, 6-2, 1.69) - 125 (3 UNITS) over Detroit (Maroth, 4-4,
4.53)

(DET is 3-8 last 11 home games. Maroth is 0-2 life vs. Texas,
allowing 17 runs over 15 innings. TX has won 8 straight. Rogers has
won last 6 starts, allowing just 4 runs over 45 innings. Rogers went
1-0 at DET last season, winning 6-1, allowing 1 run over 6 innings.)

TIP OF THE DAY...gamblers world..

Sport: MLB - Baseball

Game: Atlanta Braves @ Nationals on May 31 2005 7:05PM

Prediction: under

Current Line: 110

Over/Under: 7.5 -118

tuesday
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the 'under' in the Detroit/Miami
game, as the Pistons have played 9 of 11 playoff games 'under' off a
straight-up loss, and Detroit has also played 11 of 13 (85%) 'under'
at home off back to back point spread losses this season. Look for
Detroit to get back the 'defense-first' philosophy that it rode to
the Championship last season. Take the 'under'.

At 7:10pm our National League Game of the Week is on the New York
Mets over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-Backs send rookie southpaw
Brad 'Admiral' Halsey to the mound at Shea Stadium to face Kris
Benson. Benson came off the DL in early May and seems to be getting
stronger with each start. He is 3 - 0 with a 2.29 ERA and 0.97 WHIP
in his last 3 starts. He also prefers pitching at Shea where he has
an ERA of 1.96 vs. his overall ERA of 3.86. Halsey seems to also like
pitching at home (which doesn't bode well for him tonight) as his ERA
away from the 'BOB' is 4.37 compared with his overall ERA of 3.34.
Halsey will also likely (unless he goes the distance) have to hand
the ball to a bullpen that has been anything but supportive lately
with an ERA on the year of 6.08 and an even scarier 8.15 in their
last three games spanning their last eighteen innings pitched. Ever
since the loss of closer Brandon Lyon to an elbow injury, the D-Backs
relief corps seems to be quite a mess and they don't have a reliable
stopper to come in and replace Lyon. The Mets clobber left-handed
pitching, batting .295 against them as a team this year. The Mets
took two of three games played at Shea last year between these two.
Take NY in this one. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

Rook Sports

Atlanta -118 over Washington--Took Washington last night, and won,
and now we're switching gears and taking the Braves with Hampton on
the mound who has owned the Nats in recent past. He'll get the Braves
back on track and we'll have an easy win.
