Davidson -23 vs The Citadel (7:00 PM EST)
The Citadel Bulldogs travel to Davidson, NC tonight to face the Wildcats of Davidson. Even though Citadel has a record of 6-8 ....they are one of the very worst Division 1 teams in the country. All those 6 wins were against some extremely weak Division 2 schools, and one win (by 2 points) was against Army...who is even worse than Citadel in Division 1. Let's take a quick look at a few of Citadel's recent losses....Lost to Duquesne ....a terrible team.. by 29 points. Lost to Penn by 35 points. Lost to lowly West Carolina 26 points.
Now let's take a quick look at Davidson.....a team that will "sink it's teeth in" when given the chance...like they have tonight. When playing these very weak teams....the Wildcats love to lay it on heavy! They recently beat Clark Mass by
51 points ....beat St Mary's Maryland by 53 points....Beat Appalachian St.. on the road (a team that is tough to beat on their home court...as evidenced by their 12-3 home record in their past 15) ..by 33 points!
The Citadel are 0-6 ATS so far this year.
Davidson averages 90 points per game at home this year, while Citadel gives up an average of 83 on the road. So I think it is safe to assume that Davidson will put up at least 88 points tonight...probably more. Citadel scores an average of 62 points per game on the road...and that is against some mighty poor competition ! I would be surprised to see them hit that much tonight!
This game has all the makings of a "major" blowout !!
I think we will be looking at a final score of around 95-61 ..in a rout by Davidson!
Lay the points ! The spread is that high for a very good reason !
