Another nice night on Saturday, but it was once again a bit disappointing. Those big favorites keep coming back and biting my ass, Cardinals and Brewers are really taking it to me the last few days. I'll try to concentrate a bit more here on some quality dogs and the overs, but when I see those big favorites you have to take them.

SUNDAY PLAYS

$100 Atlanta -125
- The Braves bounced back on Saturday night and almost pulled off the win. That should provide them some confidence going into Sunday's game. Miguel Batista has a 2-5 record with an ERA of 6.80 and a WHIP of 1.644 in 9 career starts against the Braves. Jorge Sosa has had three nice starts for the Braves recently. He has a 2.25 ERA and a .900 WHIP. Prior to the last two days, Arizona has struggled batting on the road, and I look for that to be apparent in this matchup. Would lean towards the under based on the situation and the recent numbers the pitchers have put up, but I'm worried about career stats and how "hot" the offenses are.

- Trachsel has great career numbers against SF. Thinking that some guys may be rested. Morris has been pitching better of late, so I think this will be a relatively low scoring game that the Mets pull out late.

$75 SD/Pitt OVER 9
- The difference in pitching is all that needs to be said. Pittsburgh sure the hell isn't going to win in a low scoring game, and I can see SD putting up the 9+ runs themselves if they shut out the Bucs.

$200 Houston -175
- This is one of those big faves that has the value in my opinion. Houston historically has taken care of business against the Red's, and after getting beat the first two games, situation says they shouldn't be swept at home. Oswalt is 14-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 1.105 WHIP in his career against Cincy. Houston is also 7-1 on Sundays (travel day) which is always something to be aware of.

- I'm paying $50 for a Brewer victory. De La Rosa doesn't have it in him to start.

- With the pitching change in Chicago from Woods to Maddux, I don't know what to think. I don't think St. Louis will get swept, but they've done it once already this season. This might be a bigger play on the Cardinals right before game time.

- Zach Miner, the 24-year-old right-hander starting for Detroit, was 6-0 with a 2.82 ERA, 43 H and 40/21 K/BB in 51 IP for AAA Toledo. That said, I don't think it will translate to success at the major league level. Clement has been awful lately himself, so lets hope Boston can win a slugfest.

- With two bad pitchers you need to take the team with the offense that can best take advantage of that.

I really don't like the card at all but I'm a degenerate. I'll be adding the later games sometime tomorrow I'm sure, but they'll be smaller plays. I may add a total or two in some of these games where I'm not on it but I'm doubtful.
