I was driving to work yesterday and The Ticket, a Dallas based radio station, was talking about Oakland and New York are trying to work out a deal.

They mentioned Barry Zito for Heilman and 1 other Mets pitcher...I cannot recall, but Heilman was the main guy from the Mets. Zito's agent apparently will be going after some big bucks for Zito and Oakland has stated they do not have the bucks to pay what Zito will apparently be expecting. Oakland is going to see if he wants to stay in Oakland and re-sign, if not a move should be made quickly.

If this trade goes down, Heilman will be in the Starter role which is apparently what he wants.

IMO, If this deal goes down it will make the Mets heavy favorites to win it all.

Pedro is getting healthy and will be 100% come playoff time, Glavine is solid and Zito as your 3rd...you have a great chance. Mets have the offense no question and a really good closer in Wagner. I got a little excited when this talk came about, so I figured I would let the board know for those who have not heard anything.

For those Mets fans, lets hope this happens.

hey man, ya its been talked aobut for a while...A's want milledge included in any deal tho and i dont think the mets will do that unless they are sure they can sign zito past this season...heilman is garbage in the pen, he is much better as a starter but the mets dont want him starting for some reason right now...lets see what happens
