Chalk up another HR and 3 RBI's for Howard. This guy is a pure monster in his 2nd year. 48 HR and 125 RBI's with a month to go left in the season. Broke Mike Schmidt Phillies record for HR's in a month with 13.

phillies got a shot at that wild card. Naught, as much as I am pulling for Beltran, cause I know you wanna see him get it, Howard makes a better case if they make the playoffs. Mets are stacked, Phills are not.

As big as Howard is, I really doubt he needs any help. Same goes for Ortiz. Howard has always been a big boy, not like Bonds who was as skinny as me at one time and now as big as Howard lol. If I suspect anyone is on Roids it's Soriano. I have no idea how this guy hits such long HR at his size.

I agree with you big123. I watched Howard play when he was with Reading and played at the Altoona Curve, my hometown pirates AA team. The guy is a monster. He has always been that way. There is no steroid use with him, I almost gauranteel it. I am not so sure even if the phils do not make the playoffs that he does not deserve the mvp.

Mark, I would not guarantee something like that, you would have had to live with howard 24/7 to make that kind of a guarantee.

| I'll get everything I want to say in eventually, As far as testing for steroids. They can get someone to piss for them and beat that rap. LOCKS and TEST are for honest people. Rules are made to be broken, if someone is using and wants to beat a piss test, it is too easy to get over on the system. They may even have found a substance to cover up steroids when you are tested, I know they have stuff sold over the counter to hide drugs in a persons system.(not made for that purpose)

I like Howard. Used to see him play with the Reading Phils also. Mike Schmidt played in a time when the pitchers weren't complete crap like they are now though, so it is hard to compare them for that reason. Well, that and that Schmidt did it for alot more than a year and half, and was a great defensive third baseman on top of his offense. As far as size, Schmidt was smaller weight wise than Howard, but he isn't exactly a small man. He is over 6 foot tall, and wasn't exactly Ron Cey sized.

I am not comparing Schmidt to Howard. You can't, it would be apples and oranges. I don't think he took steroids thought and then stopped. Most people who have taken them and then stop, get noticibly smaller. Mike Schmidt is my all time favorite phillie. Thanks for the reply Nick. Even though we may disagree on things, that is fine, that is what these forums are about. There is just a proper way to do it. I appreciate your response. Good Luck the rest of bases. You seem to have turned it around.

49th HR of the year, upper deck job by Howard. The guy has been insane in the month of August. I agree with Mark, comparing Mike Schmidt and Howard is not a good comparison.
