Default sunday bases

(0-0)(+/- 0.00 units) favorite bets
(0-0)(+/- 0.00 units) underdog bets
(0-0)(+/-0.00 units) runline bets
(0-0)(+/-0.00 units) parlays

(0-0)(+/-0.00 units) overall

Finally, MLB regular season is here. I don’t understand how people bet the exhibition season. To me it is truly as guessing game.

I usually at the end of the year end up on the plus side in baseball. The key for me is to try and take mostly underdogs. It is the only sport that you can win 50% and come out on top. I am going to try and make my biggest single bet favorite no higher than -150. I will throw in some runline plays as well. Another thing that I am going to do this year is play some parlays. I did very well last year playing moneyline parlays with large favs. You can bet two -200 favs, lay one unit to win 1.25 units.

In the past I have tried to rate my plays best bets, strong plays and regular plays, not any more. I am convinced that no one play is better than another one, so all my plays are equal for just one unit. Another thing that I will not do is play totals, another guessing game in my opinion.

I am not going to have 5, 10 or 15 unit plays, so my record will never be up there at plus 2500 units like you may see others have. I am a fairly small bettor. I may not win a ton of money, but I won’t lose a ton of money either.

My write-ups, time permitting will be brief. How much can you really say about a baseball pick anyway?

With a ton of day games this early in the season, I will most likely be taking a pass on those games. Just not enough time when you work first trick. But got to work to make the money to gamble with.

OPENING DAY….got to love it. I am not crazy about this game, but I am going to play it just because it is the first of the season. Most of my lines are going to come from World Sports Exchange. I cannot believe how many sportsbooks are using 20˘ lines….makes me kind of sick.

Mets +130 vs St Louis……….Mets only weakness is their hurting and aging starting pitching. Might be a factor later on in the year, but not this early. Glavine has pitched well vs the Cards in this career and the Mets have the better lineup, so I will take a shot at them as a dog here.

Back sometime Sunday afternoon or evening with my Monday plays.

Good Luck Everybody!!

Thanks Tommy. Hope this is the year of the Phillies. We have been so close. I personally think we make it this year, but I don't see Ryan Howard having as good of a season this year...at least by the standards we are used to seeing from him.

I have a feeling we at least nab the wildcard if our pitching rotation stays relatively healthy throughout the year. I think Victorino and Rollins will be big this year, they'll both be more aggressive on the bases than last year. I see alot more hit and runs and stolen bases, rather than just staying at first to open the hole up for Utely and Howard. The bullpen and Burrell will be the keys. If Burrell just has a little more productive than last year, that will be big.

I have this strange feeling that the Braves will win the division, Phils will get the WC and Mets won't even make the playoffs. Glavine will eventually fall off considerably at some point. Mind as well be this year. He better have another solid year because the rest of the rotation is a big question mark. Yeah Mets have the hitting, but the Phils, Braves and even Florida have a better pitching staff that the Mets will be facing this year.

bol tonight mark, i agree w you value is on mets on the side is anywhere....game will most likely be decided by the bullpens, as both glavine and carpenter prob both pitch a solid 6-7 innings

everyone is making way too much out of the mets injuries and pitching staff...last yr pedro missed a lot of time and el duque wasnt around the whole season and also missed time and victor zambrano missed basically the whole season and the mets were just fine...they have a good combination of veterans and youth in the rotation, pedro will prob give them a boost in the 2h of the season, he will be basically like going and making a trade after the all star break, and if he can give them anything out there its a bonus, just having him around the team helps the mets...the mets should have just about the same season as last yr, i really dont see anyone in that division being a threat...philly is an average club, will win about 85-88 games as usual, the braves are on the decline, and the marlins are too young and the nationals flat out suck...i could be wrong but i just dont see anyone threatening the mets in that division unless the mets suffer drastic injuries during the year
