Default Hamels will be NL Cy-Young

Notches another win tonight. Had a perfect game going into the 7th. 11 K's. He's now 6-1 and his only loss the Phils didn't give him any runs, plus he would of had another win if not for the bullpen blowing the lead late.

I think Hamels is 2nd all-time in K's for his first 30 starts.

The Phillies have the best 2nd baseman, the 2nd best 1st baseman, the 2nd best pitcher and going to be the best closer this year in the NL. They are starting to come together. Once Howard comes back healthy, this team will compete for a playoff spot (at least I hope).

He was playing hurt for the 2 weeks before he went on the DL. He had a slow start last year and we all know what happened.

Utely is the Phillies best all around player, best 2nd baseman in baseball. Please don't give me Cano is better. He's the "pitchers spot" in that Yanks lineup.

utley is best 2nd baseman in mlb i agree w u there...howard isnt the best 1b in the league tho, pujols, derek lee, morneau, berkman all better imo...

as far as hamels winning cy young, he has great stuff but dont see him winnin that award yet, maybe at some point in his career, but guys like penny, peavy, hudson, oswalt i think have a better shot then him....hell if ure gonna include hamels in the cy young talk, what about john maine? he is 5-1 w a 2.15 era, i believe thats a run + lower than hamels...but even i dont think he will be there at the end just saying...i personally think oswalt or peavy are the best pitchers in the nl with carpenter out

just wondering how many games back the phillies gonna finish behind the mets this yr...if they supposedly have the cy young winner, best 1b and best 2b, shouldnt they be one of the best teams in the league? already 6.5 back and the mets have valentin and alou both out, and pedro out and their 2 best setup men in the bullpen, mota and sanchez....when those guys get back watch out...i just hope its a little more competive than last yr was bc it was boring to watch

Hey Guys, if you read my post again, I said Howard was the 2nd best 1st baseman in the NL. That means behind Pujols.

I don't think Berkman is better than Howard, just my opinion. Lee maybe.

And Peavy has been lights out so far. Maine has been nice as well. It's still early yet.
