WEDNESDAY QUICK HITS

BOSTON RED SOX @ PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

The Phillies came back for game two against the Red Sox with their young
pitcher Vance Worley after Cliff Lee the 'Ace' shutout the Red Sox in game
one. Worley pitched a strong seven innings giving up a single run on five hits
walking two with five K's for the 2-1 win. This was the rookies third win with
one loss this season. His buddy Michael Stutes pitched a perfect eighth and
Antonio Bastardo a perfect ninth for his third save of the year.

Raul Ibanez hit his game winning ninth homer of the year in the seventh inning.
Raul was in a home run drought and this was his first in 90 at bats. Raul was
also responsible for the Phillies first score with an RBI single.

John Lackey (5-7) got the start and loss for Boston. Lackey pitched 7.2
innings allowing two runs on eight hits with one walk and five K's.

Philadelphia goes to 51-30 and Boston is now 45-34. Cole Hamels and Jon Lester
square off Thursday for the third game of the series with the Phillies up two
games to none.
