world series game 3

houston-175 5 units top play

the best home team in the majors here with houston and they have oswalt on the mound who has been lights out in a must win game. I would be really shocked if the whitesox win this game as i look for houston to play hard and there is no quit in this team.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but ChiSox will win this game. I do believe so. I know Houton has a good record at home and Oswald has been great, but this will end. Just like Lidge being unstoppable has ended. Do not leave Garland out of the picture either. STL bats were non-existant compared to ChiSox offense. ChiSox hit the most home runs as a team than any other team in baseball. Going into Minute Maid Park with VERY shallow outfield lines. Remember Berkman's Homerun against STL in game 5? It looked like a routine pop out for Sanders. It went over. If Berkman's off balance bloop goes over the fence, what do you think the ChiSox will do? I do not know if I would play the O/U. Leaning towards the Under just for the sake of what has happened in the past with Oswalt, but I could see the ChiSox light him up, too.

GL guys, i havent decided which way to go w this game....just like you said chi sox offense could go nuts in minute maid park wigginton, dont forget the effect itll have on garland pitching there...i do not believe he has ever made a start there....while it isnt coors field, it does seem to have an effect on pitchers since they know routine fly balls are gonzo in that park...a play on the over might not be bad especially if its at 7 like the 1st 2 were

Agree 100%. Since the playoffs started Oswalt is hands down the best pitcher in baseball. His stuff is just plain nasty. If God was pitching for the White Sox I would still take Houston. The White Sox will not like playing in this dome, especially if the top is closed.

Pool, if you are betting based on that analasys, I think you shold re-think it. You don't think the ChiSox will win because there is a roof over their head? Oswalt was on fire against STL, but they were not swinging the bat hardly at all. The only one on that team that was hot was Pujols. ChiSox are not afraid to swing, they will be ready. If something is not right because they are in a dome they will adjust? Do not make the assumption that because Oswalt shut one team out, that he can shut any team out. Get ready for the SWEEP!

It has nothing to do with being afraid to swing. The Cardinals wern't afraid to swing. All year every hitter in thier lineup worked the count in the early and middle innings. If the White Sox go up there as free swingers they'll really be in trouble. I'm not slamming the White Sox, I picked them to be in the world series. No, I don't think they'll be shut out. But when they get runners in scoring position they better get them in because they won't get many chances. I'm not just basing this on Oswalt's last game. He's in the middle of one of those streaks that the top pitchers get in throughout the year when thier just very very good. As for the dome, NO team likes playing in this dome. When you see it you'll see why. I just believe in the old adage good pitching stops good hitting.

Im sure that Oswalt will pitch a good game and no doubt the best pitcher right now but how long can he go being lights out like he is, plus he has a ton of pressure on him to win this game. I like the over, I think Oswalt gives up a couple tonight.

It's a game and anything can happen. As for streaks. I ALWAYS bet on them instead of trying to figure out when they will end. I kind of like the over myself. I would never bet on Oswalt shutting them out and it's hard to hold Houston in this ballpark.

I am not a know it all. I give my opinion, everyone else gives theirs. Please do not take offense. I am just giving you my 2 cents. The falcons last night did not look very good in the second half and the Jets almost covered. You can say the Falcons got lucky because the Jets gave them 17 points, but shouldn't we credit the Falcons defense for that?

what an incredible game and a loss for me! the whitesox are just unbeatable now 10-1 in the postseason. Houston had every opprutinity in the world and tavarez and ensberg were the 2 goats, and then the ugliest sob in the history of mlb astacio loses the game only fitting.

Its been fun wigington is the best i surrender

Nevell, why do you feel the need to insult? I came to this forum because at covers.com there really isn't a whole lot of capping there. Just a bunch of people "claiming" what will happen. I pointed out that in a shallow stadium with a team who had hit the most homeruns in baseball during the regular season, I did not believe that Oswalt could hold them. Both teams played a great game and the btter team won. I am not here for everyone to say how great I am. I am not great. There are certain things that I feel very strongly about, this game was one of them. I do wager on all of my posted plays. Not trying to make enemies here, lets be friends and make $$$ together! What do ya say? I'll give my insights, you give yours and we can go from there.
