The Houston Astros won their 50th game today and the Phillies lost their 50th. The
big difference is the Astros have lost 97 games and the Phillies have won 94 games.
Put all the numbers together and it looks like this Astros 50-97, Phillies 94-50.
So I have to give credit where credit is due. Former Phillies pitcher Brett Myers shut
the Phillies down cold. Brett allowed one run in eight innings on six hits, walked one
and had four K's. Brett's record is now 5-13 for the season.
Roy Oswalt started for the Phillies and went seven innings allowing five runs on eleven
hits, walked two and had two K's. With this 5-1 loss, Oswalt is now 7-9. The Phillies
could only manage one run on six hits. Hunter Pence went two for four and Pete Orr
had the only RBI for the Phillies.
Philadelphia is now 11-4 in the "Final 33" still six games from the 100 win mark with
18 games remaining.
