| Overall MLB Record 14-7-1 +$524 10.02 2-0 +$185 10.03 12-7-1 +$339 Money Line Plays 3-2 +$153 2-0 +$200 (favorites) 1-2 -$47 (dogs) Run Line Plays 5-4 +$126 9-0 +$625 (Hypothetical if I would have taken the ML instead of RL) Totals 6-1-1 +$245 (o&u) 2-1-1 +$45 (Under) 4-0-0 +$200 (Over) I felt as if I could walk on water early on Monday. Especially after the Angels scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th to make the score 5-3 and put me in position to win on the RL, and get a push on the under. But alas, K-Rod wasn't able to seal the deal without allowing a solo home run in the bottom half of the 9th and holding on for the 5-4 win. I played 8 RL's and went 4-4, with all 4 losses one run wins by the favorite. Learned last year that those tend to average out, but once again I'll keep track of those to see if playing RL's make sense. As the season carries on I'll probably be playing less games, and more than likely I won't be playing hardly any totals. Going to be going to the Brewer/Pirates game on Tuesday night. So I won't be around until late (hence Wednesday plays will be extremely late). Couldn't get tickets for opening day, so the first "Bucket Head Brigade" night will have to be enough to satisfy me for the time being. Definately going to get 10/20 game packs for next year if that's what it takes to get opening day tickets. PLAYS National League $100 Brewers RL +135 I picked a great game to watch the opposing pitcher (rolls eyes). Victor Santos, the ex-Brewer is starting for the Pirates. His time in Milwaukee was marked by the large amount of home runs he allowed. With the dimensions of Miller Park and Santos being a fly ball pitcher, it's asking for trouble. Last year Santo's was 3-8 with a 5 ERA and a 1.7 WHIP on the road. Capuano's record of 18-12 last year is a bit deceptive. Personally I don't feel he's that good. I think he's more or a middle of the pack pitcher that did a bit better than what should be expected again. He walked 51 players last year in 108 innings pitched at home. That number needs to come down this year. I'm really leaning towards the OVER 8.5 in this game as I think the final will be 7-4 or 8-5 Milwaukee. Florida at Houston -210 It's hard for me to lay this much chalk early in the season. Pettitte should be able to shut down Florida though, just like Oswalt did on Monday. Mitre never impressed me too much, and having him as your #2 pitcher is an embarrassment. With the 1-0 Houston win Monday, I actually think we'll see a few more in this one. Just wondering if it will be enough by Florida to take the over. Not sure if I'll play anything on this game. If I do it will be Houston RL and the UNDER. San Francisco -130 at San Diego This is another hard game for me to call. Matt Morris definately has the pitching advantage in this game. I really don't like SF lineup though. Matheny can't hit, Alou and Bonds are getting up there in age, and the infield... EEK... Looks like something that might have been good in 1995. San Diego I really feel is going to win the division. Getting them at plus money, at home, looks pretty tempting. Not enough though right now to go on them yet. Would look for this game to go under again. Don't think SD can score 6 again, but will SF score more than 2 or 3 (unless Bonds has a homerun). $50 Braves -120 I look for a very low scoring game. Smoltz has owned the Dodgers during his career and Penny is pretty damn impressive himself. I'm going with the Braves in this game, mainly because I like their offense that much better. American League Cleveland at Chicago White Sox -155 Think Cleveland wins this one. Will sleep on it. The rain delay and losing CC really threw them off rythem. $75 Minnesota +110 Automatic play getting Santana at + money. With toronto I need to see how their lineup works out before I start betting on them. Halladay is going to be a stud this year too. Look at the Under. $100 Texas -115 That young Texas infield will eat up the knuckle baller. $75 New York Yankees +110 Oakland always gets off to a slow start. Wondering if that opening day hitting by the Yankees will carry over. That was great to watch. Mussina is no slouch, and should be able to hold Oakland bats quiet until Harden leaves the game. $50 Los Angeles Angels pk Don't let opening day fool you. Recap: $100 Brewers RL +135 ------------------------- $50 Braves -120 $50 Los Angeles Angels pk $75 Minnesota +110 $75 New York Yankees +110 $100 Texas -115 Last edited by fondybadger : 04-04-06 at 07:06 AM. |
