one unit (2-2)(-0.20) units two unit (1-0)(+2.00) units overall (3-2)(+1.80 units) nice day yesterday going 3-1, hitting my two unit play with san diego and calling lieber and the phils to get pounded, and i am a phillies fan too. best thing to happen yesterday was rollins continued the hit streak on an 8th inning, 3-0 count pitch. i thought it was over and the pitcher was going to walk him. lighter schedule for tuesday. white sox -143 vs cleveland (two unit)............does not seem like sox are getting enough respect early in the year. hopefully no letdown from the opener. hope i am right, this one looks too easy. atlanta -124 vs dodgers (one unit)..........it always pains me to play the braves because i cannot stand them. going with smoltz is almost an automatic with me. he just keeps winning. this won't be the shootout like yesterday, more of a 1, 3-2 type of game with these two pitching. dodgers might be a little over rated too. everybody expects big things from them this year, not me. minnesota +111 vs toronto yankees +106 vs oakland both above plays are for one unit. as you all know, playing dogs in bases is the way to go. you can hit only 50% and make money. getting a very good yankee team and a great pitcher with minnesota today. both are dogs and i am only asking one to win. might get lucky and get them both though, but i am not greedy and will take just one. it is all about being on the plus side at the end of the day. that is all for me today, four more play. i fully expect to win 3 of them. i guess that is why we bet....expecting to win, just does not always work like that or we could all quit our jobs. my doctor (neurologists) just told me yesterday that i need to find a desk job NOW!! that my back cannot take anymore. my two lower discs are shot. i would love to be able to pick winners for a living, but that is a dream. good luck everybody!!

adding........ houston -1.5 (-104) vs florida (one unit)..........got to love the astros in this one, but i am not foolish enough to lay over -200 on a favorite, anything can happen and nothing is a lock. but with petitte throwing against what looks like a AAA team, this should be easy. marlins are going to have alot of trouble winning when willis is not pitching for them this year. stranger things have happend, but this one looks good. the only thing that scares me is laying 1.5 runs with this sometimes poor offense of the astros. i will take my chance though. good luck everybody!!

naught33 My doctor told me that if it were just one disc he would consider an operation now, but two discs would be a big surgery. He also said that after the type of surgery that I need, there is only a 50-50 chance of returning to the job that you first came from. I have been off work for three weeks now, only getting 60% of my pay. I am not that bad right now, three weeks ago I could not stand straight and had a hard time walking. I have had 14 chiropractic treatments in three weeks. My chiropractor ordered an MRI and when he got it back sent me to the neurosurgeon. I have virtually done nothing for the past three weeks except go to therapy and the chiropractor. Yesterday the neuro doctor read the mri and told me not to go back to work and find a job without any lifting. The sad part is I am only 42. I have had physical jobs my whole life. My body has just taken a beating. I have already had both shoulders operated on from wear and tear as well. He said if I continue to lift things, that I will have another episode, that is what he calls it when you are in extreme pain, an episode, and a decision will have to be made as far as the surgery. I have been dealing with this for 10 years now. It is just getting alot worse fast. It actually has me pretty depressed (and it did not help that my phillies got pounded yesterday) when a doctor tells you to stop doing what you have been doing all your life. Right now it is just complete rest and therapy and I will see where I am at in two weeks.
