Default Will Pujols Break Bonds Season HR Record?

Pujols has 18 jacks already. Does he break Bonds HR record for a single season this year?? Vote on it and speak your mind!!!

I say no because he'll get walked a bunch. No doubt in my mind that Pujols is the best hitter in the game right now.

I think MLB would prefer that a player like him have it than Barry Bonds the growth hormone king. To answer your question I don't think he'll get it. 73 homers is alot to have to hit for a guy that gets pitched around so much. Bonds record is very impressive, w or w/o illegal substances.

Is it too late to change my mind - LOL. As of the time of this post, Albert Pujols has 22 home runs. The Cards have played 45 games. I was just looking over his stats and saw that he had 36 walks. That a pace of about 130 walks. That's a fair bit less than Bonds 2001 home run record-breaking season of 177 walks. I guess with Rolen and Edmonds hitting in the 4 and 5 spot he's got some protection from being pitched around. Looking at the numbers, I think he can do it. He's young and he won't tire or anything near the end of the season. It's hard to believe he's only 26. By the time he's done he'll have more homers than Bonds for sure. Don't know if Pujols is cut out for the daily interrogation that goes with a home run race though. Doesn't seem to be very chatty with the media.

23 home runs!!

one thing i can see yes he got a great chance!

if u put some great hitters lile rolen or edmonds in front of pujols!

and they get on base someone that has a high % on base

of course u r not going to walk pujols every time when there is man on base

so they are gong to pitch to him most of the time!!

Pujols will have advantage because when people get on base

no1 is gona want him unless there are 2 outs if not hes gona get pitched!!

and he is a much better swinger then bonds! pujols can hit home runs

from pitchers up down, away anywhere! bonds cant do that!
