Was starting to second guess myself, instead of relying on instincts in making my decisions. Just wasn't have any fun and was stressing out. When that happens, you have to just take a breath of fresh air. Got that out of my system, plus a couple nights of drinking, so I'm good to go. --------------------------------------------------------------- Mets -160 at Brewers (8) Pedro against Doug Davis... My initial thoughts on this game is that it's going to be a learning day for a young team in Milwaukee. The Brewer hitters are a bit impatient at the plate, and Pedro will take advantage of this weakness. The ERA for the two starting pitchers over their last 3 starts is 2.70 for Pedro and 2.33 for Doug Davis. What I don't like from the standpoint of Doug Davis is his 1.659 WHIP on the season. He's walking WAY too many men. He's got 32 walks in 44 innings, with only 28 strike outs. This Mets lineup will make him pay if he does that today. Pedro hasn't been letting men reach base with a WHIP at 0.857. Do I think that will continue today? I see no reason why not, as the Brewers have been getting most of their runs on homers (a solo shot or two won't kill the Mets) Mets are also 6-1 in Pedro's starts this year. With all that said, I'm thinking that the under is the play to make, but with the trend of 15 of the last 16 meetings between these two teams going over the total, it's not a play I'm willing to make. Especially with the Mets bullpen being vulnerable to the long ball and a Brewer team that can put them out. I'm thinking around a 5-1 or 4-2 type final, but I'm going to be avoiding RL's for the time being. CollegeKingRex is right there is an extreme amount of value on the RL. Just gun shy.Play: $200 Mets -160 Rockies at Astro's -140 This game can be summed on very easily. Andy Pettitte's last 3 starts 8.10 ERA, 1.920 WHIP. Jeff Francis last 3 starts has a 0.90 ERA and 1.150 WHIP. When the offenses are pretty similar and the Rockies have a stable bullpen, there's good value in the dog. Play: $200 Rockies +130 Tigers at Indians -115 (total 9) Detroit hits well and plays well on the road. Telling sign about this game is Jason Johnson and his inability to get deep into ball games averaging only 4.3 in his last 3 outtings with a 11.77 ERA and a 2.692 WHIP. Maroth has been getting himself in some tight situations, but he's been getting himself out of them. Both teams have been hitting well, so I don't see any reason why runs won't be put on the board. Play: $200 Tigers +105 *Staying off total as wind is blowing in from right at 11 mph Also Playing: $50 Tampa Bay +100 $50 Cincinnati +130 $50 Pittsburgh -155 Other Thoughts on games... - I think Atlanta is the right side, but there is no value. Thompson has't got run support. He has an ERA of 1.56, yet the Braves are 3-3 in his starts. - Pretty confident in San Francisco. I may add Schmidt and the boys later, depending on the morning games. - Might be some value on Oakland with how banged up NYY is and RJ latest stats. - Sunday night game I'm leaning towards CWS. Take it on the ML. Don't think getting 50 cents on the RL is worth it. Minny can't hit lefties. Buehrle is better than Silva. |
