Guys, I'm sorry to inform everyone of an email I just recieved regarding this contest. This sucks, but it's the way it goes I guess. There is nothing I can do about it.

Hi Tommy,

Due to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act of 2006 that was passed today we
are temporarly unable to serve U.S customers until we examine the situation
further with our lawyers, bankers and partners.

I am in the unfortunate position to inform that we will have to cancel our
contest at your forum as a result of the aforementioned.

I would like to assure you that our help lines and online inquiry services
will continue to operate, with additional staff being deployed to handle U.S
customer inquiries. Ready2bet.com will keep all customers informed of
developements.

Best Regards,

John

To break it down, Ready2bet is a part of Betcorp, which is a publicly traded company and as of today will not be accepting wagers within the US.

However, some sportsbooks within the Betcorp family are seeking or currently in the process of finding a solution ie moving/selling thier properties to a private company to remain within the US market and not part of the publicly traded company as far as I know.

This Suicide contest forum will be removed within the next few days so everyone has a chance to find out what happened regarding this contest.

I think we should keep the contest running as is....this could change down the road and if sold to another company, maybe they would still want to work with you, JMO, I respect whatever direction you want take.

My pick for the week anyways would be Denver

I have to do away with this contest guys. I wish I could pick this one up, but I've already picked up the NFL pick the card contest and really can't afford this one as well.

They cancelled and there is nothing I can do about it. I hope everyone understands.

I feel real bad about this. It makes me and this site look bad even though it was a sportsbook that ducked. There won't be a next time this happens, won't let it.
