Default June 24, CFL Plays

In the past I have absolutely shredded the CFL, that's not the case last year as most everything and anything went. But as any new season comes there are new faces on rosters and players to come and go. The CFL is a moneymaker and I intend on doing well this season and I've done in many past. Most of my days of CFL betting has been done through proline (wins are -3.5 spreads) and it's been nicer for me to be able to customize my own bets.

Tom, you got to add CFL to the NFL/Arena list my good man

Here's tonights winner hopefully

4* Ottawa Renegades +12 -110 over Edmonton Eskimos (CFL)

I wanted to buy this to +14.5 just for the 2 TD rule, added safety if needed lets say. +12 is a good line here considering the Eskies have 2 QBs that have been lame lately. Ricky Ray (their starter in 2003) has returned to them from the NFL where he got absolutely no play. Ray injured his knee in a preseason game 2 weeks ago and has been staggering to shrug that off lately. Maas the other QB is coming off preseason shoulder surgery and that's an adjustment. Edmonton shows 18 new faces from the team that disappointed last year after their Grey Cup win. Ottawa are a fantastic run and gun team with athletic Kerry Joseph at the helm to bob and weave and produce from next to nothing. He has a great RB as well in Josh Ranek, a guy who loves to smash and burst. Edmonton's commonwealth produces many points but more intriguing of this matchup is the 30avg Ottawa and 36avg Edmonton the teams averages in last years matchups (over 66ppg avg between the 2). Considering the banged up Edmonton quarterbacks and their likely slow start with their changes on defense I will back Ottawa here and their explosive defense. Seems the right time to hit Edmonton.

NICE! I'm glad to see someone here who knows the CFL, I've always wanted to play these games but just didn't know enough about the teams or the league in general. Can you explain to me how a team gets 1 point? I saw the score the other night in the game and it was 1-0?

Taking the points is probably a good idea, I'm a little scared so i might take the 1h line and see how it goes after seeing hamilton get blitzed in the 2nd half the other night GL man

If you attempt a FG or Punt and it ends up in the back and out of the endzone it's an automatic point. If the Punt returner fields the ball and runs it back it's a point. Teams in the CFL often give up points to give themselves better starting field position. If it's ran back into the endzone they would in turn kick the ball off and surrender the point. Effective when punting out the back of their own endzone.

Not uncommon this year to see Hamilton get blitzed. McManus (QB) is now 40 years old and their leading all purpose guy and main WR last year Archie Amerson is down and out maybe for the season with a nerves problem. Expect Hamilton to do poorly all year.

Should be fun

Sorry guys, Ottawa played very poorly tonight. Edmonton's defense played stellar. Their pickup Joe Montford was running rampant all over the Ottawa offensive line, it was flatout offensive.

Joseph couldnt get anything going tonight.

And WAY too many penalties for the Renegades. Interceptions in the endzone called back for them and a couple of good offensive plays called back. Seemed penalties on every play.

Bad night to take Ottawa
