Yep, Action bets can bring you to the poor house very quickly. Money management is defintely a rule of thumb for a successful sports bettor.

thanks for the great info ACE. yeah money management is KEY if you want to make money over the long run. it becomes very easy whether you are winning/losing to start losing focus of managing your money and start increasing your bets, which generally gets you into trouble. hopefully all of us here are disciplined enough to keep our money under control and can all win some dollars. What you said about MNF and the superbowl is definately true. They are just another football game, too many times ppl, even myself, want to bet on them just because they are out there, they feel like they have to make a play on them. we don't have to bet on everything, just the ones which give us a good chance to win!

I agree guys, great information. Smart betters are money making bettors...

Here's a tip, if something is working for you don't break it. Personally I have no problems winning with my regular stakes and making good profit. The minute I start to raise wagers and fluxuate bet amounts is when I start to suffer. I have learned through my years of experience, the only way is to keep the same bet amounts, don't change. Treat each dollar like it's the first bet off your deposit and you'll never have to worry about going broke. Even people who pull better than 55% aren't making money if they're careless with their bet amounts.

If you start betting with 10$ a unit, then there should be no reason to change this. From my experiences anyway.

yeah preseason sometimes is tough because even the 2nd stringers don't play a whole lot sometimes....some games you'll have 2nd stringers going up against guys who won't even make rosters for most of the game...definately need to know who is expected to play and for how long, there are always some games which have some advantages to play on
