| (courtesy of The Ego Sports News Network at the OPU) This is what I'm hearing........ Jets: With the signing of Ty Law and the healthy return of Chad Pennington, hopes are very high in New York. Team management is expecting this team to make a run at the Super Bowl THIS YEAR. If this team folds like they have in years past, Coach Herm Edwards head will be on a platter. G-O-N-E Saints: Jim Haslett is also a coach under pressure in 2005. If this team doesn't make the playoffs in 2005, he'll be run out of town. The Saints strong showing in the last four games of 2004 saved his job. If they stumble badly out of the gate like they have before, Haslett may not be there the whole season. Dolphins: Judging by what I've seen, including the Monday Night Pre-season game, Ricky Williams is not close to being the football player he was two years ago. Truth is, coach Saban and most of the players dont' want him there. Saban was hoping he'd look decent enough where they could deal him off. They'll be hard pressed to get ANYTHING out of him at this point. Philadelphia: Could be bigger problems in Philadelphia than first expected. McNabb and Owens have NOTHING to say to each other in practice. Couple that with Todd Pinkston's season ending injury, this team may struggle to win the weak NFC East if Washington or Dallas steps up to challenge this year. Fortunately, Westbrook is signed and in camp. New England: Bill Bellichick is not alarmed about losing his coordinators or two of his linebackers (Bruschi and Johnson). Yes, these are key losses, but Bellichick has won shorthanded before (see 2004). They'll be new defensive wrinkles installed so the defensive is not exposed badly. Bellichick believes Chad brown and Monty Beisel will step in and do well. Even without Ty Law, the secondary will be deeper, though not as talented, as years past.

| Very good info Ego, Thanks. Keep up the great work, your doing a great job Yeah McNabb and Owens arent talking right now but that will hopefully be sorted out before the season hits. The word in Philly is that Owens isn't talking to most players on the team. I think it has a lot do with him being a distraction or not being a distraction, I dont know. Westbrook was always going to report, there were really no worries there but who knows about next year, I doubt anyone is going to want to pay him top 5 RB money so I hope he stays in Philly because I like Brian right here ![]() I am very shocked that Haslett isnt gone yet, there was a lot of buzz all of last year that he would be gone anyday. He is definitely on his way out if NO doesnt get off to a good start this year. IMO, Ricky wont be much of a factor this year at all. He clearly doesn't have the drive, wont be back till half way point of the season and by then Miami will be looking to dish him off, the team and Saban arent thrilled with him and he probably wont be in game shape till its too late anyway. For anyone in Fantasy Football this year that think getting Ricky late is a steal, then I think you will be dissappointed. |

| yeah great info ego....signing ty law was a GREAT move by the jets...not only is he a shutdown corner, but he brings the rings as well...the jets needed a corner and got one of the premier ones in the league...their DL and LBs are the strength of their defense and now with Law their secondary should be up to par w the rest of their defense. as for the eagles, trouble is brewing there....i think TO is going to act like he did back in SF and sabatoge that team..he will show up on sundays, but i can definately see him dropped a crucial pass here and there and not going all out...as much as that is an issue i think westbrook not getting his contract will be a big deal also...dont see him making the same fuss TO does, but they need him healthy and happy and effective for their offense to click on all cylinders. the saints are always intriguing...they always play half the season well and half the season poorly...their run at the end of last yr probably kept haslett his job for now, but if they get off to a poor start look for him to be gone by week 5...they really have no excuses, they have a lot of talent on that team
