The Star Tribune reports Vikings OG Shannon Snell, a first-year guard, was back at practice after missing two days to be with his twins, who were born premature last month and had health issues. The Pioneer Press adds trainer Chuck Barta said Pro Bowl C Matt Birk could be ready to practice later this week but that he would not play Friday against the Kansas City Chiefs. TE Richard Angulo (left shoulder) and C Kyle Schmitt (left knee) remain out. WR Kelly Campbell returned to practice, as did CB Ken Irvin and CB Brian Williams. CB Fred Smoot left the scrimmage early after being kicked in the calf. Barta had no immediate report on the severity of the injury. RB Ciatrick Fason suffered a lower-back bruise or strain.
