Ravens Injury Update Wed Aug 10, 2005
The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens TE Todd Heap (ankle and shoulder), RB Musa Smith (leg), CB Dale Carter (leg), CB Deion Sanders (deep bruise below knee - out 2 weeks), and FB Alan Ricard (hamstring) did not practice on Tuesday. OLB Adalius Thomas hyperextended his right knee late in the morning session Tuesday, likely keeping him out of Saturday night's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Thomas hurt the knee on a handoff play to RB Chester Taylor at the Ravens' indoor training facility in Owings Mills. The injury appeared serious at first, but a magnetic resonance imaging test showed there was no ligament or meniscus damage. Thomas wore a wrap around his knee and professed to be fine. Second-year OLB Roderick Green is expected to replace Thomas in the lineup against the Falcons. MLB Bart Scott may also move back to outside linebacker from the middle. The Ravens also have lost rookie OLB Dan Cody probably for the season with a knee injury suffered the first practice. CB Chris McAlister (rest) sat out practice Tuesday to rest. McAlister is expected to practice today. CB Jamaine Winborne and CB Zach Norton rotated at left cornerback with McAlister out. |
